Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a bin?

Simply go to our "Get a Quote/Book a Bin" section on our Home page of the website and you can get a quote and book a bin online from there. Otherwise you can call us Monday to Friday 7am to 4.30pm and on Saturdays 7am to 12pm on the number above where one of our friendly staff will be able to assist you.

How much notice is required to book a bin?

We are able to offer same day deliveries in most cases, however to ensure that you receive the bin you are after we advise to book the bin at least the day before to secure the bin you are after.

For how long can I hire a skip bin from Melbourne's Unlimited Bins?

We offer bins for hire for periods of 1 to 3 days. We operate a bins collection service on a 24 hour basis. This means, for example, that if you hire on Monday, we will collect on Thursday, unless you have paid for additional days.

How can I pay for the bin?

Payment is on delivery of the bin. This can be by Cash, Eftpos, Credit Card or Electronic Funds Transfer. You can also pay online via Pay Pal or Credit Card.

Are there any extra charges?

Surcharges apply to tyres and mattresses. After we collect hire bins in Melbourne, we process loads at our transfer station. Some goods require additional treatment or processing, which is why they incur extra charges. They are as follows:

  • Tyres are charged at $10.00 each.
  • Truck Tyres $50 each.
  • Mattresses are charged at $40.00 each, irrespective of size.

To what level can I fill the bin?

The bin must be filled to the top and no higher. The waste cannot exceed the height of the bin for safety reasons.

What waste can I put in a bin?

  • General Household/Garden Clean Ups.
  • Builders / Renovation Material.
  • Landscaping Works.
  • Office Fit Outs.
  • Factory Clean ups.

What waste do you not accept?

We accept most waste with the exemption of tins of liquid paint, gas bottles, chemical waste in solid, liquid or powder form including garden and household chemicals. No oil and Insulation must be bagged and labelled.

Do you remove asbestos?

We do not remove or accept asbestos in our bins. Please refer to your yellow pages directory under Asbestos Removal.

What happens to my waste?

The waste we remove from the bin is taken to our Transfer Station in Reservoir where as much as possible is retrieved for recycling. The remainder is sorted for transfer to other sites. Some materials that are deemed non-recyclable will ultimately end up as landfill.

Will I need a permit?

Any bin placed on Council Property (eg: Nature Strip or Road) we are required to gain a Council Permit with the relevant Council your property resides in. We arrange the permit on your behalf and carry the insurance required. Permit costs range from Council to Council. To get a price on Permit costs you will need to contact our office number above.

Can I organise my own permit?

No. Unlimited Bins has the Liability Insurance needed with the Councils to have the bin placed on Council property.

Can I specify a delivery and pick up time?

We generally try to meet your specified times by supplying a two hour window for delivery/pick up. This is to account for traffic hold ups and other bookings in place. Please note in busier periods we may be heavily booked so it pays to get in early to avoid any disappointment.

Can I set up an Account?

Yes we do offer Account to customers who use Unlimited Bins on a regular basis. Contact our friendly staff to see if you qualify for an account on the number above.
